DZI: who, what, where and why.

DZI is my ambient musical project. Something closest to me out of everything I've done music-wise (either as a singer or a bass player). The musical style of DZI embraces dark ambient, minimal trip-hop and often noise. Although meditative and repetitive, the tracks are developing and emotional.

So far there are three albums in the DZI discography:

The first one, "It's fine":

The album contains 6 tracks of melodic and soothing dark ambient. "It's fine" was finished in 2009, summing up an exhausting period of my life. This was basically the time DZI was born as an entity as I realized i needed the release I get by doing this music.

The album can be downloaded here: DZI - It's fine.

Second album "I Will Stay" goes beyond the repetitive dark ambient and has some more aggressive noise-inspired tracks. However, the general feel of the music is also one of tranquillity, confidence and admiration for this world's complexity and beauty. A great deal of my inspiration is definitely Belarusian nature, scarce at the first site but very meditative and deep:

You can download this work here: DZI - I Will Stay.

The third work, "Hold it", did not have any noise experiments anymore but presented a 20-minute 3-piece dark ambient canvas with occasional light beats:

The album was featured on "Sounds of Ambiance" net radio (show #68) and is great a pleasant listen.

You can download the third album here: DZI - hold it.

I am working on a bunch of tracks right now and I can see the next album taking shape. I do not think there is ever an end to DZI no matter what style of music I am doing otherwise. Well, only with my physical demise DZI will seize to exist :)

If you like my stuff – please do not hesitate to get in touch. I am open for any cooperation and would love to make my music widely available. Creating a movie/theater/game sountdrack or having my soundscapes back up any other art form is definitely my wish, especially considering DZI already IS a soundrack – to the world as I see it.

Cheers,
Dzianis
